Charity Easter Egg Hunt

\n<\/b><\/p>\n

It is more than 20 years since we started the Charity Easter<\/span>Egg Hunts. Since that time, this event has produced a\u00a0<\/span>profit approaching \u00a31,000 each year for the Club\u2019s Charity\u00a0<\/span>Bank Account.\u00a0<\/span>We place an order in January, for <\/span>delivery in February, for\u00a0<\/span>an estimated number of eggs, the precise number not\u00a0<\/span>becoming known until we visit prospective participating pubs\u00a0<\/span>and clubs four weeks before Easter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes we have found ourselves with surplus eggs, these have been disposed \u00a0of by donation to the children\u2019s wards in local hospitals, by being raffled at the Celebration Night of our Anniversary or Club business meetings.\u00a0<\/span>Each egg \u00a0comes in a basket trimmed with purple and gold ribbons (Lions colours), and has a message \u2018Happy Easter from Ruislip Lions\u2019.\u00a0<\/span>In each venue, the egg is the subject of a raffle of 100 tickets at \u00a31 each. \u00a0This year 10 out of the 15 participating pubs and clubs sold all 100 tickets.\u00a0<\/span>This year\u2019s event is over so a letter of thanks, together with a Certification of Appreciation quoting the figure of \u00a31,395 raised this year, is being sent to every participating pub or club, which is intended to encourage participation in next year\u2019s Charity Easter Egg Hunt.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Annual Plant Sale

The Club will be holding its 21<\/span>st<\/span> Annual Plant Sale on Saturday 12<\/span>th<\/span> May. It will be held in the car park of Ruislip Rugby Club on West End Road in Ruislip from 10.30am to 12.30pm. On sale will be professionally grown Bedding Plants, Perennials, Shrubs, Climbers, Vegetables and Hanging Baskets. \u00a0Pre orders for hanging baskets can be made to Jackie on 020 8429 1130. Free parking and admission.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last Night of the Proms

Ruislip Lions will be returning to the Winston Churchill Theatre on the 1<\/span>st<\/span> September for \u2018Last Night of the Proms\u2019. Once again it will be featuring the award winning Friary Guildford Brass Band, and the guest vocalist will be Ruth Fortey who has recorded professionally and has been a BBC chorister of the Year. The concert will start at 7.30pm, tickets are \u00a313.50 and \u00a310.00 for Children\/Students. Box Office: 0784 7665164. Come along and enjoy a terrific night out, quality entertainment and much flag waving!<\/span><\/p>\n
