Our Crossbow Range popular at Pinner Pantomime

The weather was very cold on Pinner Pantomime Evening which took place on Thursday 30th November. However that did not deter a lot of young people from taking part in “The William Tell” crossbow competition, with the overall winner on the night, taking home a complete set including a Bow, Darts and a target. The money raised will be used to help Lions charities both locally and internationally.

Ruislip Lions attended Ruislip Manor Library 10 Year Anniversary

The Leader of Hillingdon Council  Cllr Ray Puddifoot with local MP Boris Johnson view the the Bagatelle table top game, which the club took to the library. They are seen here with the President of the club Phyllis and Chair of Services committee Fred. This turned out to be a very popular game with young people who enjoyed the hands on  game as opposed to their normal virtual experience with phones and tablets. Children and their parents from Newnham and Lady Banks Schools loved the non-techno bagatelle, “once you start on this game you don’t want to stop, you just want to keep raising your score” was the comment from one pupil, and it helps with mental arithmetic – this could be a Christmas stocking winner………. and not a mobile phone in site!!
